120th Kisan Mela in Pantnagar from October 3 to 6: Seed of 22 wheat varieties at 15% discount, agri-startup pavilion for the first time; full schedule

The 120th All India Kisan Mela and Agri-Industrial Exhibition will be held at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, from October 3 to 6. According to the university's pamphlet, the inauguration will be at 11 am on October 3 at Gandhi Hall, by Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd); the closing will be at 3 pm on October 6. According to Vice-Chancellor Dr SK Kashyap, more than 4,000 quintals of seed of 22 wheat varieties will be available at a 15% discount on the normal rate. Seeds of gram, lentil, pea, toria, mustard and vegetables, and fruit plants will also be sold, and for the first time there will be a separate pavilion for agri-startups. An auction of heifers and buffalo calves will be held at the Nagla dairy farm at 2 pm on October 4, an animal show at 10 am on October 5, and a farmer-scientist meet at 3 pm daily from October 3 to 5.
