Inspector Vikram Rathore, the former in-charge of ITI kotwali who was sent to police lines over the arrest of gangster Yogesh Bhadauda, carrying a ₹1 lakh bounty, in Kashipur, now faces suspension. According to Amar Ujala, SSP Ajay Ganapathy has recommended his suspension to IG Kumaon Niveditha Kukreti, and the departmental inquiry has been handed to SP Crime Anusha Badola. On July 8, police picked up Yogesh Malik alias Yogesh Bhadauda, of Bhadauda village in Meerut, near a ruin on the Chaiti Mela road with a .315 bore country-made pistol and three cartridges, and registered an FIR only under the Arms Act.
