About 55,000 (around 11 per cent, or one in nine) of the 4.99 lakh Bharat Gas, Indane and HP Gas consumers in Udham Singh Nagar district have had their connections blocked because they did not complete e-KYC. According to Dainik Jagran, about 33,000 of Indane's 3.19 lakh consumers, about 20,000 of Bharat Gas's 1.10 lakh and about 2,000 of HP Gas's 70,000 connections are blocked. The last date for e-KYC was September 30. According to Pramod Pandey, manager of an Indane gas agency in Rudrapur, those whose connections are blocked should contact their gas agency and get e-KYC done; for this the mobile number and Aadhaar card must be linked to the LPG ID, and refills can be booked once the connection is restored. City MLA Shiv Arora has said no one will be left without a cylinder during the festivals because of a blocked connection and that officials have been given instructions. If your cylinder is not getting booked, first ask your agency about your e-KYC status. (Source: Dainik Jagran)
