खटीमा: जमीन में 100 किलो सोना गड़ा होने का लालच देकर थारू व्यक्ति की हाईवे किनारे की जमीन हड़पने का आरोप, छह पर मुकदमा, चार गिरफ्तार

A case has come to light in Khatima in which a man from the Tharu tribe was allegedly lured with the claim that 100 kg of gold was buried in his land, and his plot along the highway was grabbed. According to Dainik Bhaskar, Circle Officer Neeraj Semwal said Randeep Singh of Bhud Maholiya reported that his father Umesh Kumar owned about one and a half to two bighas of land. The accused allegedly took money in instalments in the name of tantric rituals and prayers and got signatures and thumbprints on land documents. It is also alleged that Umesh Kumar was held captive in a car and threatened, through a woman, with a false rape case to force him into a land agreement. The registry papers mention ₹86 lakh paid in cash; this and the role of those in whose names the land was registered are being investigated. Police have booked six accused and arrested four near the railway station; one is absconding and a tantric named in the case has died. (Source: Dainik Bhaskar)
