SBS College student union polls: Independent Gaurav Kushwaha elected president by 391 votes, only 43.6% turnout

In the student union election held on Tuesday at Sardar Bhagat Singh Government Post Graduate College (SBS College), Rudrapur, independent candidate Gaurav Kushwaha won the president's post by a margin of 391 votes. The winners were sworn in after counting. Only 3,365 of the college's 7,725 voters, or 43.60%, cast their votes. Police were deployed on the campus and at the main gate during polling, and no one was allowed in without an identity card. Several students who came to deposit fees on polling day were turned away.
