Rudrapur gets 56 mm rain in 24 hours, orange alert again today; relief likely from Monday

According to the daily report of the India Meteorological Department's Dehradun centre, Rudrapur's automatic weather station recorded 56 mm of rain in the 24 hours up to 8:30 am on Saturday, September 26. Khatima received the most in the district at 95 mm, while Kichha recorded 64.5 mm, Pantnagar 54.2 mm, Gadarpur 49.5 mm, Bajpur 33 mm, Kashipur 12 mm and Jaspur 10 mm. The report said the monsoon remained vigorous across the state. IMD's district-wise warning, issued on September 26, puts Udham Singh Nagar on orange alert for today, Sunday, September 27: very heavy rain, thunderstorms with lightning, squalls and strong winds are likely. There is no warning for the district for Monday, September 28. Stay away from rivers, drains, underpasses and waterlogged spots, keep clear of trees and open ground when there is lightning, and dial 112 in an emergency.
