Fire in sugarcane field in Jaspur's Manduakhera burns four and a half bighas of crop; two fire teams save half a bigha of cane and paddy in the next field

A fire broke out suddenly in a sugarcane field near the Manduakhera–Bhagwanpur crossing in Manduakhera village of Jaspur on Sunday evening. According to Amar Ujala, two fire teams reached the spot on the instructions of fire station in-charge Sandeep Asnawade, by which time the fire was spreading towards nearby fields. The team put out the fire by laying hoses from a water tender and a mini high-pressure vehicle. Of the five bighas of sugarcane, about four and a half bighas were burnt, while half a bigha was saved and the paddy standing in the next field was also saved from the fire.
