Rudrapur: Trucks parked along road at Pantnagar Mod pose danger, jams and risk of accidents outside SIDCUL

Heavy vehicles parked along the road at Pantnagar Mod have become a danger to people. The SIDCUL area begins at Pantnagar Mod, and hundreds of trucks carrying raw material and finished goods come and go every day. With no parking inside the factories, drivers park on the roadside; trucks and canters standing on both sides of the road beyond the flyover towards Rudrapur cause jams. Bikers have crashed into these vehicles several times at night, as they stand without indicators or reflectors. Local people say that despite complaints, action is limited to challans, and that it is dark right where the flyover ends, so the parked trucks cannot be seen. Former SIDCUL Association president Ajay Tiwari said a transport nagar or permanent parking is needed, while president Gajendra Singh said company managers have been asked to park their trucks properly and a meeting will be held soon to find a solution.
