Heavy vehicles heading into Rudrapur to face partial curbs from 7 am to 10 pm and a full ban from 6 to 8 pm: police plan, start date not yet announced

Udham Singh Nagar police have drawn up an action plan to prevent road accidents and improve traffic. According to Uttarakhand City News, on the instructions of SSP Ajay Ganpati, a joint team of the police, traffic police, ARTO and NHAI inspected accident spots on October 24. It was decided that heavy vehicles coming towards Rudrapur city will face partial restrictions from 7 am to 10 pm. For this, the routes into the city from SIDCUL Chowk, Radha Swami Satsang, the Rampur border and the Amenity School on Kashipur Road have been specified. From 6 pm to 8 pm, heavy vehicles will be completely barred on these routes; at other restricted hours, only authorised pass-holders of companies in the city will be allowed. Strict action will be taken against wrong-side driving, and helmets will be compulsory for pillion riders on two-wheelers too. Street lights and rumble strips will be installed at accident spots, unauthorised cuts will be closed, and a municipal corporation mobile team will be formed to remove stray cattle. The report does not say from which date the restrictions will take effect.
