No helmet, no petrol: pumps in the district warned, CCTV footage to be checked; wear a helmet when you ride to the pump

To prevent road accidents, the transport department is running a 'No helmet, no petrol' campaign in Udham Singh Nagar district. According to Dainik Bhaskar, petrol pump operators have been told not to sell petrol to two-wheeler riders who come without a helmet. ARTO Naveen Kumar said the district supply department will check the CCTV footage of petrol pumps to see whether the rule is followed, and if a pump is found selling petrol to riders without helmets, action will be taken against the operator under the rules. According to the paper, many pumps are not yet fully following the rule. A special police checking drive is also on in the district until November 5.
