Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, has found a place in the QS Asia University Rankings 2027. According to Dainik Bhaskar, Vice-Chancellor Dr Shivendra Kumar Kashyap said at a press conference on Wednesday that this year's list has 1,722 universities from 26 higher education systems, including 325 from India and 448 from China. Thirty-four Indian universities are on the list for the first time and 21 Indian institutions are in the top 200. According to Uttarakhand City News, Pantnagar ranks first among the country's agricultural universities, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, is also on the list. The reports do not give Pantnagar's rank, and we have not been able to check it against the QS list. The VC called it the collective effort of teachers, scientists, researchers, staff and students. He said the university is focusing on taking research from laboratories to farms and markets. A drone training centre, smart farming technology and startups are also being promoted.
