Rudrapur: Portal journalist out on bail alleges at press conference he was framed in a conspiracy; attempt-to-murder section dropped in court, says Dainik Bhaskar

The portal journalist against whom a case was registered after a dispute following a road accident in Rudrapur has held a press conference raising questions about the assault, his arrest and the case. According to Dainik Bhaskar, he alleges that he was deliberately dragged into the dispute. He spoke of making disclosures about an alleged conspiracy and the role of those linked to it, but the report does not give the details. According to Bhaskar, the dispute after the accident was between the journalist and some young men in a Bolero, and both sides made allegations against each other. The case registered on the other side's complaint also included Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder). According to the report, the section was removed during the court hearing and he got bail. Uttara News had reported this earlier too, on which we carried a story. After the arrest, journalists, journalists' organisations, Congress workers and social organisations demanded a fair probe. The report does not carry a response from the police or the other side. These are still allegations, not proven in court.
