Alleging indecent remarks by staff of the ARTO office in Rudrapur, lawyers raised slogans on the district court premises on Wednesday and went to the district judge, demanding that the staff concerned be made to apologise. According to Amar Ujala, the lawyers said that on November 2 a lawyer's client showed the ARTO office an order from the Chief Judicial Magistrate for the release of an e-rickshaw. It is alleged that staff at the counter refused to accept the order and made insulting remarks against lawyers. It is also alleged that when they objected, they were threatened with having their registration cancelled. A written complaint has also been given to the Bar Association, seeking action against the staff and an apology. The report does not carry the ARTO office's side. These are still allegations.
