Sitarganj-Tanakpur highway width now 30 metres instead of 45: NHAI order, revised land acquisition plan sent; landowners may get relief

In the plan to widen Sitarganj-Tanakpur National Highway 125 from two lanes to four, the NHAI has reduced the right of way (RoW) from 45 metres to 30 metres. According to Amar Ujala, land acquisition will now proceed on the basis of 30 metres; this is likely to reduce the land needed, and local landowners may get relief. According to Hindustan, Champawat DM Manish Kumar said a revised land acquisition plan has been prepared in line with the gazette notifications and sent for necessary action. The DM asked officials to keep the process transparent and time-bound, and to look after the interests of landowners and citizens. Both reports are from Champawat; they give no separate details on land in the Udham Singh Nagar stretch.
