Mantri Metal workers at Pantnagar SIDCUL protest at labour department: allege only ₹1,000 given as bonus last year, refused this year

Workers of the Mantri Metal company in Sector 11, Pantnagar SIDCUL, staged a dharna at the labour department demanding bonus. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the workers allege they were given only ₹1,000 as bonus in the last financial year and that management had then assured them of full bonus as per rules the next year. According to the workers, management refused when they asked for bonus this time. They raised slogans against the management and alleged exploitation of employees. The workers said the agitation will be stepped up if their demands are not considered. The report does not carry the side of the company's management or the labour department.
