SBS College: undergraduate first-semester students now take written exams in only four subjects, other subjects marked on internal assessment, assignments and projects

At SBS Degree College in Rudrapur, BA, BSc and BCom first-semester students will now take written exams in only four subjects instead of seven or eight. According to Amar Ujala, the college administration has issued instructions for the exams: three subjects will be Discipline Specific Courses (DSC), or majors, and one a General Elective (GE), or minor, and these will have written exams. The other subjects will be assessed on internal exams, assignments and projects, so assignments and projects must be submitted on time. Principal Prof Awadhesh Narayan Singh said written exams in four subjects will give students more time to prepare their main subjects, and appealed to students to follow the instructions on internal assessment, assignments and projects seriously. Marks in the other subjects will also be decided by internal assessment, so taking them lightly could prove costly. (Source: Amar Ujala)
