Diwali today: auspicious time for Lakshmi puja at home is 5:54 pm to 7:50 pm, ledger puja at shops and factories 1:27 pm to 2:54 pm, says Kashipur astrologer

Diwali is today, Sunday, November 8. According to Amar Ujala, Pt Mohan Prasad Shastri Jaguri of the Deep Jyoti astrology office on Manpur Road, Kashipur, said that according to the panchang the Amavasya tithi runs from 11:27 am on November 8 to 12:31 pm on November 9. Because Amavasya falls in the Pradosh kaal, the main Diwali will be celebrated on November 8 itself. He said the Vrishabh (Taurus) lagna coincides with the Pradosh kaal this time, which is considered the best for Lakshmi puja. Households should perform the puja in the fixed Vrishabh lagna between 5:54 pm and 7:50 pm. Traders can perform the bahi-khata (ledger) puja at their establishments, shops and factories in the Kumbh lagna between 1:27 pm and 2:54 pm. Timings may differ slightly between panchangs. On Choti Diwali on Saturday evening, the Shivansh Seva Samiti lit 21,000 diyas in the premises of Kashipur's historic Maa Bal Sundari Devi temple. Samiti members said they have been holding the Deepotsav there for 10 years.
