Gold ear studs allegedly stolen from jewellery shop in Dineshpur: two women posing as customers seen on CCTV, police trying to identify them

Two women who came to a jewellery shop on the Dineshpur-Kali Nagar road posing as customers are accused of stealing gold ear studs weighing about three and a half grams. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the two came in at about 2 pm, asked the staff about their families and presented themselves as acquaintances. They then asked to see different designs, kept the staff talking and allegedly slipped the studs into a purse when no one was looking. When the jewellery was checked after they left, the studs were found missing and the shop's CCTV showed the incident. The shopkeeper informed the police on 112. Dineshpur police have recorded the staff's statements and are trying to identify the women from CCTV footage. According to the report, they have not been traced so far. The report also says the women have done this in at least two shops in the area, but makes no mention of police confirming it.
