BJP padyatra in Rudrapur: CM targets Congress and SP at Gandhi Park meeting; Bengali leader Subrata Biswas and former MLA Thukral detained, released later

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined the BJP's 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' padyatra in Rudrapur on Tuesday and targeted the Congress and the Samajwadi Party at a public meeting at Gandhi Park. According to Dainik Bhaskar, he accused Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Mallikarjun Kharge of having an anti-Sanatan mindset and spreading confusion. He said approval has been received to develop Pantnagar airport to international level. These reports do not carry a response from the Congress or the SP. According to Hindustan, police detained Subrata Biswas, who has been on a dharna for six months demanding reservation for the Bengali community, and several protesters who had gathered on the Kichha bypass road preparing to show black flags. Former MLA Rajkumar Thukral, who was going to show black flags over crop compensation and nazul land, was also detained. All were released later. The CM was also due to inaugurate the Diwali fair at Gandhi Park, but reports so far carry no details of this.
