Illegal fireworks factory sealed in Mahuadabra, Jaspur: 15 kg of explosive material found, no fire NOC and no police verification of 80 workers

On the DM's orders, SDM Rahul Shah and his team raided a fireworks factory running in the Mahuadabra nagar panchayat on Thursday and had it sealed. According to Hindustan, 15 kg of explosive material was recovered from the factory and two quintals of fireworks material was found on the spot, while records of purchases, sales and stock were not available. The bill the operator produced for the purchase is from a firm in Najibabad that has reportedly no valid licence for its warehouse. The factory had no valid fire NOC, the work was being done in a makeshift tin shed, and the 80 workers employed there had not been verified by the police. The SDM has told the kotwal to keep watch on the premises and has sent a report to the DM. He said violations of safety standards and licence conditions at fireworks manufacturing and storage units will not be tolerated under any circumstances. (Source: Hindustan)
