Rudrapur: City's main roads to be pothole-free by October 31, about 20 roads to be repaired with Rs 55 lakh in first phase

Work to make the city's roads pothole-free will be speeded up. The Public Works Department (PWD) has set a target of completing repairs of all the city's main roads by October 31. According to PWD Executive Engineer Gajendra Singh, the government has sanctioned Rs 55 lakh for the first phase, with which about 20 roads under the department will be repaired. Roads in the worst condition will get priority, including some city roads, state highways and main roads. A DPR is being prepared for the remaining roads, on the basis of which further demand will be sent. According to the department, patchwork and tarring will begin as soon as the weather clears. The District Magistrate has also directed officials to speed up work to make the district's roads pothole-free by October 15. (Source: Hindustan)
