Fresh setback for Rudrapur medical college: missing from NMC list for fourth time, admission to 100 MBBS seats this session in doubt
रुद्रपुर मेडिकल कॉलेज को फिर झटका: एनएमसी की सूची में चौथी बार नहीं आया नाम, इसी सत्र से 100 एमबीबीएस सीटों पर दाखिले पर संशय

Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Government Medical College, Rudrapur, has still not been recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). According to Amar Ujala, the college put its case in an appeal hearing in Delhi on September 25, but Rudrapur's name did not appear in the list that was issued. Recognition has now been held up for the fourth time in a row: an NMC team inspecting in July-August found a severe shortage of faculty, vacant professor posts and unfinished construction of the hostel, critical care block and staff quarters; the file was stopped again in August; a compliance report sent in the first week of September also came back with objections, even as Pithoragarh medical college got conditional recognition for 50 seats at the same time. Many students are now looking at other colleges. Principal Dr C.P. Bhaisora said none of the colleges that were heard has received final recognition yet, and another attempt is being made before the next counselling. Meanwhile, ETV Bharat, citing the medical education department, reported that Rudrapur's 100 seats are expected soon, which would raise MBBS seats in government colleges from 675 to 775.
