Rudrapur: Meat sales to stay shut in municipal area for the nine days of Navratri, says mayor; four temples in road-widening path to be rebuilt nearby

Workers of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal met Mayor Vikas Sharma demanding that meat sales be stopped in the municipal corporation area for the nine days of Navratri (October 11 to 19) and that temples in the path of road widening be relocated. The mayor assured action on both demands and said the sale of raw and cooked meat will remain closed in the municipal corporation area for the nine days of Navratri. He said the Jhadi Baba temple on Nainital Road, the Vishwakarma temple, the Ghantaghar temple opposite Guru Nanak School and a temple near the Indane gas agency are in the path of the road widening. Efforts will be made to relocate all four temples to suitable sites nearby and build them on a grand scale. (Source: Hindustan)
